Since the previous OBS walkthrough that I published over almost two months ago, I have managed to add a lot of new features to the level. The first thing I remember doing in my level (and also consulting my reflective log for proof) is creating a menu system for my level. It has four buttons, one to continue the current game, one to load a save slot, one for options and the final button for the credits. Clicking on the ''load game'' button will take the player to a new screen where they can select one of four save files, and clicking the ''continue game'' button will take the player to the actual level. I was originally going to use Adobe Photoshop to produce some location artwork for the menu, but I instead chose Pixilart online because my skills on Photoshop still aren't very good. I then made some music for the level using Bandlab. The music for the menu is supposed to be the punk rock that the participants of my survey requested, while the ''music'' for the level is meant to be some Asian-sounding strings and some gong sounds, which will play once after each minute that the player spends in the level. I then started work on the hotel area, and so far I only have what looks like an empty lobby for the hotel. The exterior has red wooden window frames that I made by taking a wooden gate asset from the Soul: City asset pack and adding a red material, in an attempt to mimic the red and green detailing on some of the buildings of the Chinese Quarter. I also made my own emerald green material for the roofs of the temple buildings, since the roofs of the real-life Chinatown buildings are green, and not navy blue like the original assets were. I also used this green material on the windows and doors of the hotel. I then started work and completed a small canal area, based on Birmingham's serpent-like canal network which has been there since the industrial revolution. I added some assets from the Twinmotion boats pack to serve as another exit point for the player, similar to the chainlink gate in the bamboo park. Around a week ago, I added a working door system to the level, where pressing E on the keyboard will open the right door in a double doorframe. I also added a new building to the background of the level, with a billboard on the front of it.
