PEER TESTING

Description

Towards the end of my project, I got two of my classmates, Josh and James, to play test my level. I made a survey on Microsoft forms to collect their responses. Most questions used a scale of one to ten, with one being very bad, and ten being very good

Improvements

This is what I would do to improve the level based on the feedback I got from my peers. Unfortunately I wasn't able to work on this feedback during the project since I was working on the WIX website and written work as I received it.

James

"It can be improved once there are more areas to explore."

- I would've started work on the main Chinatown Plaza, preferably the loading bay to the hotel area, once I'd finished work on the main hotel to fulfil this request.

Josh

"Add something to stop the player from falling off the elevator and walking on the water."

- Something that I missed on the OBS walkthrough is that the player is able to walk on the water in the canal area of the level, and the reason why I missed it out is because there is no real reason for the player to be walking on the water (nothing on the other side of the canal), let alone the fact they shouldn't be on the water. There was also a problem where the player could jump off the elevator while it was still on the second floor, and then there wasn't any method to call the elevator back down.

What I would've done to fix the canal issue was add multiple small, invisible collision meshes around the small dock area outside the hotel so the player can no longer leave the dock let alone walk on the canal water. What I would've done to fix the elevator issue is either start work on and complete the penthouse area of the hotel, so then there would be walls around the elevator and also the rest of the second floor to prevent the player from falling and getting stuck on the ground floor, or add a collision on the ground floor next to the elevator so the player can call it back down if they jump down. Either of those can solve the issue on their own but in reality it would be better to add both of them
